Residents were jolted awake by screams and the acrid smell of smoke. ‘The fire spread so fast; we barely had time to grab our essentials,’ recounted a neighbor from the adjacent floor. Alerts were sounded, and emergency calls flooded the fire department, prompting a swift response with several fire engines converging on the site.
