Punjab Police struck a decisive blow to ISI-sponsored terrorism by arresting Gurjinder Singh alias Baba Beant, close confidant of terror plotter Jagrup Singh, effectively closing investigations into three audacious attacks. DGP Gaurav Yadav shared the update Saturday, highlighting the disruption of a Pakistan-linked module.

Collaborating seamlessly, Amritsar SSOC, Pathankot CI, and Patiala police zeroed in on Gurjinder from Gurdaspur’s Bidhipur village.

Flashback to the Shambhu rail track blast on Monday night: Jagrup perished in a botched IED placement. Prior arrests of Pradeep Khalsa, Kulwinder Bagga, Satnam Satta, and Gurbreet Gopi yielded arms, grenades, and tech gadgets. Satnam’s disclosures uncovered an arsenal of RPGs, bombs, and guns.

Yadav disclosed the duo’s history and separate routes to the site. Gurjinder witnessed the fatal blast from afar and bolted.

Grilling Gurjinder exposed connections across the Moga grenade assault (Nov 7, 2025), Sirhind explosion (Jan 23, 2026), and Shambhu incident (Apr 27, 2026). All stemmed from Malaysia handlers tied to Pakistan and US elements.

This caps a series of successes, solving the tripartite terror saga. SSOC AIG Mann credited intel ops for the Amritsar capture. Patiala SSP Sharma praised the terrorists’ evasion tactics like communication blackouts, vowing deeper probes ahead.
