Police have apprehended Jayant Kumar Singh from the Sarnath police station area of Varanasi for allegedly threatening Jharkhand’s Health Minister, Dr. Irfan Ansari. The mobile phone used to make the threats has also been recovered. The accused, Jayant Kumar Singh, is an MBBS student.
An FIR was filed at the Steel City police station in Bokaro district following the threats to Dr. Irfan Ansari, the Health Minister of the Jharkhand government.
According to the complaint, the Health Minister received multiple calls from the same number, with the caller threatening to teach him a lesson and kill him. After the case was registered, Jharkhand Police began tracing the mobile number used to threaten Dr. Irfan Ansari. However, Jayant Kumar Singh kept changing his location.
According to information, the Jharkhand Police, with the assistance of the Sarnath police in Uttar Pradesh, arrested Jayant Kumar on Thursday as he was attempting to flee towards Ghazipur. The police apprehended Jayant Kumar Singh, who had threatened Jharkhand’s Health Minister, during this attempt.
Along with this, the mobile phone used to make the threats has also been recovered. It is reported that he kept evading the police and was planning to escape to Ghazipur. Based on his mobile location, the Jharkhand Police, with the help of Sarnath Police, intercepted him near Audihar via a road transport bus and arrested him. Jayant Kumar, the accused of threatening Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari, is an MBBS graduate. He was preparing for a master’s degree in medicine and also has a house in Shillong, Meghalaya.
