Chief Secretary V. Srinivas, upon arriving in Jodhpur, addressed the press, terming the episode ‘highly regrettable.’ He commended the engineering team’s quick action in dousing the flames, averting potential catastrophe. All staff at the facility are accounted for and unharmed.
Looking ahead, Sharma’s inspection tour is planned for Tuesday, with Srinivas set to revisit the scene. Safety standards were upheld paramount, justifying the PM’s visit deferral. This development underscores the challenges in commissioning large-scale refineries amid operational teething issues.
