An incident of assault has occurred in the Balodabazar district of Chhattisgarh. The event took place in the village of Dhabadih, located in Bhatapara, Balodabazar. A petrol pump supervisor was severely beaten in the incident. The nephew of Chhattisgarh’s Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare, Tankram Verma, along with his associates, is accused of the assault. Police have arrested three suspects in connection with the case. The accused nephew of Minister Tankram Verma is identified as Krishna alias Raja Verma, the son of Tankram Verma’s elder brother, and is 43 years old. He is a resident of Champa village in Palari police station area. Another accused, Ashish Baghel, also 43 years old, resides in Semharadih village, under Suhela police station. The third accused, Bhim Sahu, is 26 years old and also resides in Semharadih village, under Suhela police station. The incident reportedly occurred on the night of August 9th. The victim, Vinod Dubey, who is a resident of Thelki village, filed a report regarding the assault. The victim, Vinod Dubey, works as a supervisor at the Nandlal Fuel petrol pump in Dhabadih. According to Vinod Dubey, on August 9th at around 11 pm, he was on duty when Krishna Verma and Ashish Baghel arrived at the petrol pump. They then took Vinod Dubey to a truck parked near a dhaba. There, in the presence of eight to ten people, Krishna Verma verbally abused Vinod Dubey. The attackers allegedly said that Vinod Dubey thought he was smart for coming to fill petrol and then proceeded to assault him while boasting about being related to the minister. The victim was beaten with fists and a belt and threatened with death. Minister Tankram Verma stated that he does not support any wrongdoings. He did not confirm whether the accused was his nephew, but he did state that no one is above the law and the accused should receive the strictest punishment according to the rules.
