The Chhattisgarh police have successfully arrested a 19-year-old mastermind, Mohammed Zahir, from the Nuh district of Haryana for his role in a ₹11.7 lakh cyber fraud. The investigation revealed that the gang used a complex network of 40 fake SIM cards and 20 different bank accounts to launder money stolen from a victim in Chhattisgarh. After the victim initially refused to pay more fees for his rare ₹5 note sale, the gang resorted to intimidation, threatening him with legal action and police intervention to extort further funds. The suspect was tracked down through advanced digital forensics and technical surveillance.
