In an inspiring address at Jaipur’s 23rd Cancer Survivors Day event hosted by Bhagwan Mahavir Cancer Hospital, Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan honored cancer survivors as beacons of strength and perseverance. Their unyielding spirit, he said, radiates hope and empowers communities nationwide.
The Vice President framed the occasion as a tribute to human resilience amid India’s growing cancer burden. “Swift detection and public awareness hold the key to survival,” he asserted, calling for unified efforts against the disease. “Battling cancer is not a solitary journey,” he reminded the audience.
He spotlighted the revolutionary impact of Ayushman Bharat, with 75% of beneficiaries from rural areas, dramatically improving access to advanced treatments and addressing longstanding disparities in healthcare delivery.
Dignitaries including Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Kisanrao Bagde, Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar, and hospital leader Navratan Kothari joined the celebrations. The Vice President’s arrival at Jaipur airport was marked by a grand reception led by state leaders.
Beyond the survivors’ event, Radhakrishnan will address Rajasthan University’s 35th convocation ceremony. Reflecting on his recent stint at AIIMS Rishikesh’s convocation, he motivated medical graduates to embrace service with empathy and innovation, prioritizing prevention, rural health, and cutting-edge research.
Rishikesh, he noted, blends spiritual heritage with modern medicine, making it an ideal cradle for such transformative education. These messages underscore a national push for proactive health strategies.
