In a strategic move to enhance road safety initiatives, the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) and Transport Department have enlisted popular actors Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia Deshmukh as their brand ambassadors for the next five years. The power couple, currently riding high on the buzz around their film ‘Raja Shivaji’, were honored at a high-profile ceremony in Mumbai.

The event, graced by top dignitaries like CM Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy CM Eknath Shinde, and other officials, marked the launch of intensified public awareness drives under the ‘Road Safety Campaign’. The focus is on disseminating critical information about safe driving, passenger awareness, and broader road etiquette to the masses.

Riteish opened up about the significance of the role, reminiscing about childhood bus journeys with his father, the late Vilasrao Deshmukh. ‘These buses hold special memories; representing them is an incredible privilege,’ he enthused.

Parallel to this endorsement, ‘Raja Shivaji’ is generating massive excitement. A passion project for the couple, who handled scripting, direction, and production, the movie boasts A-list stars like Sanjay Dutt and Vidya Balan. Their son debuts as child Shivaji, while whispers of Salman Khan’s special appearance could create cinematic history alongside Abhishek Bachchan. Riteish’s portrayal of Sambhaji Shahji Bhosle is expected to be a standout.

As Maharashtra pushes for zero-accident roads, Riteish and Genelia’s star power is set to drive home life-saving messages, merging their film fame with public service.
