In a decisive crackdown, Punjab’s Anti-Gangster Task Force has apprehended Arju Bishnoi, a prominent figure in the Lawrence Bishnoi syndicate. The arrest, announced by DGP Gaurav Yadav on social media, included the seizure of a .32 bore handgun loaded with three cartridges.

Hailing from Rajasthan, Bishnoi faces charges in a high-profile murder investigation, complete with a bounty on his head. The AGTF’s action underscores the intensifying law enforcement efforts to sever ties between interstate gangs and local operatives.

Just prior, the task force unraveled an international gang module, nabbing four suspects traveling along the Ambala-Chandigarh highway. Identified as Patiala residents Armaan Singh, Chirag, Ravinder Singh (aka Rahul), and Akshay (aka Prince), the group was armed with sophisticated .30-caliber pistols from abroad and ample ammunition.

One suspect’s role in the fatal shooting of an Abohar businessman last July has come to light, prompting a joint operation with Mohali police. Checkpoints dotted the highway after intel pinpointed their route, culminating in a dramatic takedown near Jenetpur.

Pramod Ban, Additional DGP for AGTF, praised the coordinated response. As Punjab grapples with rising gang violence, these successes signal a robust strategy to safeguard public safety and dismantle criminal empires piece by piece.
