The resignation of AAP’s Raghav Chadha from Rajya Sabha and his subsequent joining of BJP has sparked a fresh political firestorm in Mumbai. NCP (SP) spokesperson Clyde Crasto seized the moment to critique BJP’s opportunistic playbook.

In an IANS interview, Crasto observed Chadha’s growing disconnect from AAP. ‘No shock if he joins BJP – he was out of step, especially skipping Kejriwal’s crisis for overseas treatment,’ he said. Crasto accused BJP of systematically dismantling opposition by inducting turncoats.

Reflecting on Chadha’s career arc, Crasto pondered: ‘AAP made him a key figure, but in BJP’s crowded arena, will he shine or fade?’ Regarding Harbhajan Singh’s rumored shift, he dismissed its electoral weight: ‘Cricket glory aside, politics demands different skills.’

Crasto’s rhetoric peaked with BJP’s notorious ‘washing machine,’ which he claims perpetually spins to sanitize incoming leaders and erode foes. ‘It’s their go-to tactic across the board,’ he asserted.

Post-resignation, Chadha met BJP president Nitin Nabin at the party office, accompanied by Mittal and Pathak. Nabin’s warm reception with mithai underscores BJP’s embrace of fresh recruits, fueling debates on loyalty and ambition in Indian politics.
