The unveiling ceremony was graced by MCA chief Ajinkya Naik, special guest Rajeev Kulkarni, cricket icon Diana Edulji, Secretary Prof. Dr. Unmesh Khanwilkar, Joint Secretary Nilesh Bhosle, Treasurer Armaan Malik, and other council members and cricketers.

President Naik described it as a pivotal step in strengthening grassroots cricket. ‘Emerging players get to shine under pressure, and franchises gain vital insights pre-league. We’re dedicated to fostering talent and preserving Mumbai’s cricketing heritage,’ he declared.

Former India all-rounder Rajeev Kulkarni praised the initiative: ‘Pre-league tournaments like this are essential for practice, team building, and boosting morale. It guarantees heightened standards for the T20 Mumbai League.’

Teams have been handpicked by MCA selectors from the league’s player roster. Matches will light up four venues: MCA BKC, Sachin Tendulkar Gymkhana in Kandivli, Thane’s Dadaji Konddev Stadium, and Mahalaxmi’s Western Railway ground.

This high-stakes event is tailored to deliver real-game exposure to young guns, enabling franchises to evaluate fitness, form, and cohesion before the big auction. It’s more than a tournament—it’s a strategic launchpad.

Expect tactical masterclasses and breakout performances that could define the upcoming league season. The MCA Champions Trophy promises to set the stage for riveting T20 action, reinforcing Mumbai’s status as a cricketing powerhouse.
