Jharkhand Family Tragedy: Three Drown in Chatra Village Pond

A pall of gloom has descended over Bhojya village in Chatra after a devastating accident claimed the lives of a woman and her two young children. The incident took place at the local Barka Aahar pond during the morning hours. Parwa Devi, the wife of Khiru Yadav, had visited the pond for household chores accompanied by her daughters, Geeta and Malti. The family, which was part of a close-knit rural community, was wiped out in a matter of minutes following a fatal slip at the water’s edge. This tragic event has once again highlighted the dangers associated with unguarded water bodies in the region. Local sources indicate that the tragedy was sparked when the younger daughter lost her balance while playing near the water. As she tumbled into the deep section of the pond, her mother instinctively dove in to save her.
