DC Edges RCB in IPL Thriller: Miller’s Clutch Heroics Shine

Delhi Capitals scripted a dramatic comeback to defeat Royal Challengers Bengaluru by six wickets in a high-stakes IPL 2026 clash at Chinnaswamy Stadium. Cricket director Venugopal Rao singled out David Miller’s cool head as the game-changer.

‘Momentum is everything in these tournaments,’ Rao told reporters post-match. ‘Miller’s experience shone through as he closed out the chase flawlessly.’

DC’s chase of 176 began disastrously, slumping to 18/3 in the powerplay. KL Rahul (57) and Tristan Stubbs (60*) then stitched a match-saving 76-run alliance, setting the stage for a tense finish.

With 15 needed off the last over, Miller (22*) took charge against Romario Shepherd. Two massive sixes and a crisp four later, DC crossed the line with one ball remaining, sending fans into ecstasy.

Rao emphasized the importance of that middle-order recovery. ‘RCB’s score was defendable, but Rahul and Stubbs got us back in contention,’ he said.

DC’s bowling attack deserves credit too, holding RCB to 175/8. Rao pointed to pitch conditions: ‘Heat slows it down in day games. We took wickets consistently, preventing any big partnerships.’

Captain Axar Patel’s resurgence was another highlight. ‘He’s worked tirelessly,’ Rao revealed. ‘His leadership and key scalps, like Tim David’s, show his true class.’

As IPL 2026 heats up, DC’s ability to thrive in pressure situations positions them strongly, proving experience trumps flair in crunch moments.
