In a decisive diplomatic maneuver, Iran has countered the United States’ nine-point initiative with its own comprehensive 14-point document, calling for US troop evacuation, no-attack pledges, and an outright end to the conflict. Sunday reports from Iranian outlets highlight Tehran’s firm stance against prolonged ceasefires.

Tasnim Agency detailed how Iran dismissed the proposed two-month truce, advocating instead for a 30-day resolution centered on permanent war termination. This sets the stage for intense negotiations.

The Iranian counterproposal encompasses lifting sea blockades, repatriating frozen funds, compensation payments, sanction rollbacks, and halting operations on every front—from regional hotspots to Lebanon. A novel framework for Strait of Hormuz oversight was suggested, coupled with demands for security guarantees and US base closures nearby.

As Tehran awaits Washington’s reply, parliamentary leaders are advancing a 12-point legislative package for Hormuz. Deputy Speaker Ali Nikzad announced restrictions on Israeli ships, mandatory Iranian permits for transit, and damage reparations from belligerents.

‘This upholds global standards and neighbors’ rights without compromising our sovereign entitlements,’ Nikzad asserted, drawing parallels to Iran’s oil nationalization era as a landmark sovereignty assertion.

Echoing this resolve, the IRGC warned Sunday that Trump must pick between infeasible aggression or capitulating to Iran’s terms. With decision space shrinking, the world watches this pivotal exchange that could reshape Middle East dynamics.
