In a key meeting with UK Defence State Minister Luke Pollard, alongside top brass, the duo explored the nuances of contemporary warfare dynamics, pressing military threats, and enhanced army-to-army engagements. Conversations extended to Indo-Pacific State Minister Seema Malhotra, spotlighting joint efforts in defence industrial strategies, tech innovations, and security frameworks.
Consensus emerged on tackling regional Indo-Pacific tensions through closer alignment, particularly in cutting-edge areas like cyber operations, intelligence sharing, and space capabilities. Emphasis was placed on bolstering info-security protocols, resilience measures, and cross-training programs, with a shared vision for agile, potent forces.
General Chauhan also chaired an influential roundtable on ‘Indian Military Transformation: Challenges and Opportunities,’ drawing policymakers, analysts, and specialists. Dialogues covered evolving strategic environments, tech-driven military upgrades, capability enhancements, and integrated approaches across defence, cyber, and intel spheres.
Receiving full military honours including a ceremonial step-line from UK CDS Sir Richard Knighton, he met India’s envoy too. Analysts hail the trip as a milestone for intensified collaborations in defence, intel, cyber domains, exercises, and dialogues, contributing to worldwide stability.
Building on the successful ‘Ajeya Warrior’ drill late last year at Mahajan Range, where Sikh Regiment and UK forces practiced precision strikes against terror targets via heliborne ops, this visit signals deeper integration.
