The Samsung A17 5G is anticipated to launch in India soon. Recent leaks have revealed the potential price of the Indian variant of the phone. According to these leaks, the phone might be available in three different configurations. The handset was initially introduced in key European markets on August 6, with color options including Black, Blue, and Grey. The device is powered by Samsung’s in-house Exynos 1330 SoC, paired with the Mali-G68 MP2 GPU.
Early information suggests that the A17 in India could start at approximately Rs. 18,999 for the base model, which features 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant and the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant could be priced at Rs. 20,499 and Rs. 23,499, respectively. This suggests a near launch for the smartphone in the Indian market.
Considering the European launch price, which is around EUR 239, the phone is expected to be priced at about Rs. 24,393 for the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage version.
If the Indian version of the A17 5G shares the same specifications as its European counterpart, it will boast a 6.7-inch Infinity-U Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It will also include an IP54 rating, providing protection against dust and splashes. The device will be equipped with Samsung’s Exynos 1330 chipset, paired with the Mali-G68 MP2 GPU, and up to 8GB of RAM along with 256GB of internal storage.
The device is likely to incorporate a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for security. For its optics, it may feature a dual rear camera setup, including a 50-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and a 2-megapixel macro lens with an f/2.2 aperture. The front camera is expected to be a 13MP sensor with an f/2.0 aperture. The Galaxy A17 5G will support 5G, Bluetooth 5.3, and USB Type-C. It’s anticipated to have a 5,000mAh battery and 25W wired charging capabilities.
The smartphone market has aggressively started incorporating flagship features into mid-range phones. For example, the recently launched Realme P4 PRO offers superior specifications and features within the same price bracket. The Realme P4 Pro’s availability of a 7000 mAh battery coupled with a 120 fps refresh rate makes it a more compelling option than the A17 5G.
