Mauritius hosted its first MCB Ladies Classic with India’s Diksha Dagar stealing the spotlight on day one via a rare hole-in-one. Her confident 4-under 68 at Constance Belle Mare Plage vaulted her to a tie for fourth, marking her as a serious contender in this LET Access Series tournament.
Dagar opened on the back nine and immediately made waves with an ace on the par-3 11th. Birdies on 15 and 18 pushed her to 4-under before a fifth-hole bogey. Undeterred, she drained another birdie on nine for a flawless recovery.
Tvesa Malik delivered consistency with 2-under 70, grabbing 20th place. Her front-nine birdie spree was marred by a double bogey on nine, but back-nine gains on 15 and 17 kept her in contention. Hitashee Bakshi’s 1-under 71 secured 30th, contrasting Vani Kapoor’s challenging 78.
At the top, Agathe Laisne of France blazed to 8-under 64 on 10 birdies. Kara Gorrie (South Africa) fired 7-under 65 with eagles, while Smilla Tarning Sondberg (Denmark) sits third at 6-under 66.
Tied scores at 4-under promise a fierce battle ahead. The cut after 36 holes will spare the top 60 and ties, heightening stakes for Indians like Dagar and Malik, who are building momentum for the Indian Open later this year.
