Delhi Capitals scripted history Friday night, overhauling Rajasthan Royals’ imposing 225 with 7 wickets to spare at Jaipur. It was the franchise’s most audacious chase ever in the IPL, a testament to their batting firepower and unbreakable spirit.

Amid the celebrations, coach Hemang Badani turned reflective, offering the victory to two devoted young supporters, Yagna and Abhav Bhatia, cousins whose lives were cut short by a devastating road mishap.

Just days earlier, on April 27, the 20-year-old Yagna and 14-year-old Abhav were heading back from cheering DC against RCB at Arun Jaitley Stadium. Tragedy struck on Ashoka Road when a truck allegedly rammed their bike at a T-junction and fled. Despite frantic efforts, they were pronounced dead at RML Hospital.

Post-match, in an emotional clip circulated online, Badani said, ‘This victory belongs to Yagna and Abhav, gone too soon. They were true DC die-hards; their Instagram presence showed their love for us. You’ve honored their memory today.’ He rallied players in the dressing room to keep the brothers’ passion alive.

Skipper Axar Patel joined in, conveying deepest sympathies: ‘Our hearts go out to their family. They were part of our DC family, and this win is theirs.’

As prominent members of the ‘DC Toli’ fan brigade from Ashok Nagar, the boys’ infectious enthusiasm had won them admirers. DC’s surge forward now carries their legacy, turning grief into a powerful motivator on the field.
