A 20-year-old man has been apprehended by Uttarakhand Police in connection with the rape and murder of a teenage girl in the Udham Singh Nagar district. The suspect, identified as Rajiv Kumar, was arrested within 12 hours of the incident in Amiyawala village of Jaspur area. Authorities have recovered a blood-stained blade and the clothes worn by the accused at the time of the crime. The victim, a Class 8 student, was attacked in a sugarcane field while collecting peels for her animal. The accused followed her, committed rape, and then murdered her when she resisted.
