With polling underway in the second phase of Bengal polls, Baranagar TMC hopeful Sayantika Banerjee urged constituents to back the ruling party. In a candid interview, she highlighted Mamata Banerjee’s equitable development model that ignored affiliations and embraced all.

‘Mamata Didi treated everyone the same – no favoritism based on BJP loyalty, TMC support, or CPI(M) leanings. She served Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs alike,’ Banerjee noted. Confidence ran high that performance would sway votes, crediting Mamata’s administration as the true achiever.

Banerjee shared her SIRE ordeal, where Mamata’s Supreme Court intervention proved unwavering support. ‘Bengalis discern genuine allies from actors,’ she said. On local identity, she quipped, ‘Bengali speakers are natives; infiltrators don’t converse in our tongue.’

Affirming inclusivity, she backed residents with valid IDs as rightful voters. Thanks poured for Tejashwi Yadav’s rally, praising his leadership and familial legacy. ‘Migrants from Bihar thrive here peacefully; we prioritize humanity over politics,’ Banerjee affirmed.

Echoing party optimism, MP June Malia vowed Bengal’s voters would ‘teach BJP a lesson’, pointing to phase one’s mandate. MP Sayoni Ghosh heralded the ‘Didi tsunami’, predicting BJP’s collapse under 50 seats after their overhyped 2021 promises fizzled to 77.
