In a heated political retort from Patna, JD(U) spokesperson Saket Singh has accused RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav of indulging in ‘false propaganda’ against Nitish Kumar to stay in the limelight. The trigger: Yadav’s criticism of Nitish’s Rajya Sabha entry following his resignation as Bihar CM.

Recapping Yadav’s Friday speech, he alleged Nitish had no personal desire for the upper house and slammed the sudden government reshuffle post-elections. NDA leaders had championed Nitish’s leadership for decades, Yadav noted, questioning the timing of the change.

Singh countered by linking Yadav’s barbs to his unfulfilled ambitions. ‘His swearing-in hopes crashed, so now he’s latching onto Nitish’s name for survival,’ Singh quipped. He extolled Nitish’s unparalleled contributions to Bihar, from infrastructure to stability, asserting that Yadav’s repeated mentions are a bid for borrowed glory.

Labeling Yadav a ‘nominal’ opposition leader handed by voters out of default, Singh criticized his ‘wild statements’ after a foreign jaunt. Though pained by Nitish’s departure, Singh hailed it as a historic chapter. ‘No one before or after matches Nitish. We urge Nishant Kumar for CM,’ he advocated.

Bihar’s volatile political landscape intensifies with such volleys, signaling tougher battles ahead. Nitish’s legacy looms large, forcing rivals to grapple with his enduring influence.
