  • PM Modi’s indirect jibe at Tejashwi Yadav ‘Shehzaada’ has considered whole Bihar as his property – The Economic Times Video

Amid the Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 04 addressed a public gathering in Bihar’s Darbhanga. The PM highlighted the work done BJP-led NDA government for India. He said that under the leadership of the BJP government, India has reached the moon and has broken all shackles in the 21st century. He also took a veiled swipe at RJD leader Tejaswi Yadav calling him a ‘Shehzaada’ of Bihar. “This period has come in the 21st century when India has once again broken all its shackles and stood up. Today India’s reputation in the world has reached new heights. Today India has reached the moon, where no one has reached before… Just as there is a prince in Delhi, similarly there is a prince in Patna also. One prince has considered the whole country as his property since childhood and the other prince has considered the whole Bihar as his property. The report cards of these two princes are the same. There is nothing in their report card except scams,” said Narendra Modi.

The northern state of Bihar is going to polls in all 7 phases and the results will be counted on June 4. Purnia district has one of the highest Muslim populations with approximately 6.5 lakh voters. The seat has around 1.5 lakh Yadav, 3.5 lakh Kushwaha and around 1.5 lakh upper caste voters. Purnia parliamentary constituency is going to take place in the second phase on April 26 as the Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced.

In the ongoing Lok Sabha Election, Purnia has become a hot seat after the INDIA alliance in Bihar fielded RJD candidate Beema Bharti ignoring Pappu Yadav, who later filed his nominations as an independent candidate. On the other hand, NDA has re-nominated JD(U) sitting MP Santosh Kumar from the seat.

    Tejashwi’s INDIA vs NDA Pitch

During the Purnia rally, RJD leader Tejashvi Yadav urged the crowd to support his party candidate Beema Bharati and said there is a direct fight between the INDIA alliance and NDA. “Choose INDIA bloc, and if you do not choose INDIA’s Bima Bharti, then choose the NDA. Saaf Baat! Saaf Baat!” he said.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha Election, JD(U) candidate Santosh Kumar secured a victory against Congress candidate Uday Singh Alias Pappu Singh. New Delhi: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav reacted to the incident of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar touching Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday and said that he felt terrible and found it painful to see. Yadav was referring to Modi’s rally in Bihar earlier today ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections where he was joined by Nitish Kumar, Chirag Paswan and other BJP-JDU leaders Nitish momentarily touched PM’s feet.

“Today I saw a picture of Nitish Kumar where he touched the feet of Prime Minister Narendra Modi…We felt very bad. What has happened? Nitish Kumar is our guardian…There is no other CM as experienced as Nitish Kumar and he is touching the feet of PM Modi,” said Tejashwi.

Earlier today, Tejashvi Yadav hit out at PM Modi and called him a “machine of lies.” Reacting to Modi’s statement that leaders of the INDIA alliance are “anti-Sanatan”, RJD leader said, “What is the proof? Am I not a Hindu? There is a temple in my house. Are people of the BJP considering themselves as God? People of BJP should not compare themselves with God. God is watching everything and everyone has to go there.”

In the post on X, Yadav had accused the BJP of indulging in “institutional, organised and systematic corruption”, which was marked by huge donations to the party through electoral bonds and hounding of political adversaries through ED, CBI and IT department.

Yadav, who is named in land-for-jobs scam, pertaining to father Lalu Prasad’s tenure as Railway Minister when he was a minor, had also sought to know why the agencies took no action against leaders of the BJP who faced corruption allegations and how come turncoats from the opposition camp often got reprieve after crossing over.

“I am glad that ever since I started flagging the political dynasts in the BJP-led coalition, the PM has stopped his rants against parivarvad. The very candidate he has campaigned for Bihar comes from a political family,” he said.

He also scoffed at the PM’s claim “I address rallies only to have a darshan of my people” despite being confident of a win in the elections, which is being predicted by surveys.

The RJD leader remarked, “If that is so, why is the PM having a darshan of the people only during election time? The fact is, he is scared. So he is playing mind games. He has been a manufacturer, distributor and wholesaler, all rolled into one, of lies.”

  • `Undeclared Emergency Imposed…`: Tejashwi Yadav Hits Out At BJP – Watch

Tejashwi Yadav questioned PM Modi about his promise of giving two crore jobs every year.

  • INDIA bloc rally: Modi’s guarantee like Chinese goods, only meant for polls, says Tejashwi Yadav

In a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Sunday claimed that his guarantee is like Chinese goods and is only meant for polls, as he urged people not to fall for the BJP’s “propaganda” in the Lok Sabha polls. Addressing the INDIA bloc rally at the Ramlila maidan in Delhi, Yadav alleged that an “undeclared emergency” was prevailing in the country and asserted that the opposition will not let the RSS agenda to be implemented in the country.

Yadav also sang lines from a Govinda-starrer movie with a play on the lyrics “tum toh dhokebaaz ho, vaada karke bhool jaate ho”, to allege that Prime Minister Modi did not fulfil his promises made in the last election.

The former Bihar deputy CM charged that the Enforcement Directorate, CBI and IT department are cells of the BJP. “Cases have been slapped on me, my father, mother, sisters. We are not the ones to get scared. The manner in which Hemant Soren ji and (Arvind) Kejriwal ji have been arrested (has been seen by everyone). We are not going to be cowed down by their threat. Only lion is locked up. We are lions and we also never shy away from struggle,” Yadav said.

“When people will give a befitting reply Modi ji will be out of power..cast your vote. BJP people are liars don’t believe them,” he said.

“Modi ji says his guarantee is a strong one, we say that his guarantee is like Chinese goods, use it two-three times and it goes bad. So his guarantees are only meant for elections. They (BJP) only indulge in propaganda and making threats,” the RJD leader charge Yadav also took a jibe at Modi over this morning’s ceremony of conferring Bharat Ratna to BJP veteran L K Advani. “When President was conferring Bharat Ratna to Advani ji, Modi ji was sitting next to Advani ji but did not even stand in honour of the President,” he said.

Yadav said people are blessing the INDIA bloc in all corners of the country and asserted that the bloc is united to save democracy, Constitution and brotherhood.

“Division is being spread and politics of hate being done and, therefore, we have come together to fight for the people,” Yadav said.

“Those who give the slogan ‘abki baar 400 par’, they can speak anything, but people are the real masters and you have to decide who will rule the country,” Yadav said to loud cheers from the crowd.

“I want to ask people they (BJP) are giving the slogan and fixing target, saying ‘abki baar 400 paar’, looks like EVM setting is done. We want to ask people, will it become a reality or they they will be thrown out,” he said and asked people to raise hands in show of support for removing the NDA from power by voting against it in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

“The crowd here is telling us that Modi ji, who came like a storm, will also exit like one,” he said.

“We are seeing that undeclared emergency has been imposed in country, those in power have adopted a dictatorial approach, they have become arrogant. We don’t want to abuse anyone but we have come to tell people what is being felt across the country,” he said.

The biggest enemy is unemployment and price rise, Yadav said.

He claimed that farmers are reeling under the policies of the Modi government and their lives have been “destroyed”.

“But Modi ji has no time to meet farmers but meets Priyanka Chopra. Last time he gave interview to Akshay Kumar this time he spoke with Bill Gates. He had promised to double farmers income but he is assaulting farmers,” Yadav claimed.

In a show of opposition unity ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, INDIA bloc leaders came together at a ‘Loktantra Bachao’ rally at the Ramlila ground here on Sunday in the backdrop of Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal’s arrest.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) leader Sharad Pawar, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav, CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury, CPI general secretary D Raja, PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti and Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren, among others, attended the rally.

  • ‘Idhar Chala Main Udhar Chala’: Tejashwi Yadav Takes Dig At Nitish Kumar In Jan Vishwas Rally |

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Sunday slammed Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and described his recent ally shift phenomenon with the Hrithik Roshan starred song, ‘idhar chala main udhar chala, jane khan mai kidhar chala.’ Addressing the crowd in Jan Vishwas Rally at Gandhi Maidan in Patna, Tejashwi said that the Bihar government should get its insurance done as it runs the risk of JDU supremo taking repeated U-turns.

Yadav exclaimed that the BJP says ‘Modi ki Guarantee’, but who will take the guarantee of Nitish Kumar? Reacting to the accusations of PM Modi over familial politics in RJD, former deputy CM of Bihar said, “They call us out on nepotism, but they have Samrat Choudhary, brother of Ram Vilas Paswan, Manjhi ji’s son has been made minister, it doesn’t look like any nepotism to them.”

He further expressed gratitude to the Congress for their support in challenging times, Yadav highlighted Nitish Kumar’s initial skepticism about job promises during their tenure. “When we pledged jobs, he questioned their source. Under our administration, we conducted a caste census, raised the reservation limit to 75%, and increased reservation for extremely backward people by 24%. We achieved what the country hadn’t since independence,” Tejashwi Yadav remarked.

He hailed RJD’s ethos, stating, “In RJD, ‘R’ signifies rise, ‘J’ stands for job, and ‘D’ represents development.” Tejashwi critiqued the BJP for destabilising elected state governments, asserting that the public will respond. Tejashwi pledged to continue the fight, framing it as an ideological battle. “Even if summonses are sent to Rahul Gandhi or the CBI targets Akhilesh Bhai in the Uttar Pradesh alliance, we will persist. BJP has become a dustbin where every party’s waste is accumulating,” he stated in Patna.

Taking a swipe at PM Modi, Tejashwi criticized his recent visit to Bihar, accusing him of repeating falsehoods. “Modi ji is a factory of lies. In the last election, BJP won 39 out of 40 seats. Ask their MPs about the work done in their districts,” he concluded.

PM Modi visited Bihar on Saturday where is was present in a public meeting in Aurangabad alongwith Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. PM also unveiled development projects valued at over Rs 21,400 crore in the state.

The work of the Health Department, Road Construction Department, Urban Development and Housing Department and the decisions taken by him will be reviewed, the order said. Apart from this, the work of the RJD regime in the Rural Affairs Department, PHED and Mines and Geology Department will also be reviewed. Instructions have also been issued by the state government to the secretaries of all concerned departments in this connection, said news agency ANI.

The order came shortly after Tejashwi Yadav launched a fresh attack on Chief Minister Nitish Kumar while addressing the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra and said that the CM does not want to listen to anyone. “You all very well know how our CM is, he does not want to listen to anyone. He used to say ‘I will die, but won’t join BJP’…We decided to stay with Nitish ji, no matter how much we have to sacrifice, only to defeat BJP in 2024…’ Hum logo ne ek thake hue mukhyamantri ko Niyukt kiya hai’…” said RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav.

“He does not want to listen to anyone, but still, ours was a grand alliance government, and we wanted to be united with a big goal, We have to stop the powers that be, those who work to sow poison in the country, so this time at any cost, no matter how much we have to bear, no matter how much we have to sacrifice, we joined Nitish ji, so that BJP will be defeated in 2024. We will do the work of ousting BJP from power and we appointed a tired Chief Minister, ” added Tejashwi Yadav.

Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav joined Rahul Gandhi in his ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ on Friday in Bihar’s Sasaram. The Yatra reaches it’s final stage in Bihar and is scheduled to enter Uttar Pradesh later today.

Yadav was seen driving Rahul Gandhi and other leaders in the lead jeep as the yatra made its way through Sasaram with the RJD leader acknowledging his ally in his post on x. This was the first time the RJD leader was seen sharing the stage with Gandhi in Bihar since state Chief Minister Nitish Kumar severed his ties with the INDIA bloc.

  • Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Faces Crucial Floor Test Today, Can RJD Spoil BJP-JDU’s Party? |

New Delhi: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, who joined the NDA after a sudden change of alliance, has to show his majority in the assembly today. Before that, the political scene in Patna has heated up due to the ongoing meetings at Tejashwi Yadav’s residence. Is RJD of Lalu Yadav planning to play any game in the floor test? This question has been lingering in the political air for many days. Some RJD MLAs are staying at Tejashwi’s house with clothes and bags.

On the other hand, JD(U) MLAs have been kept at Hotel Chanakya fearing the glow of the ‘lantern’. BJP MLAs have also been moved to another hotel. The scare of Operation Lotus that was in some states, is now the talk of Operation Lantern in Bihar. Meanwhile, the slogans of ‘Tejashwi is needed’ have definitely kept the ruling party’s heartbeat high.

    Does BJP-JD(U) Have Enough Numbers?

The reason for the commotion in Patna before the floor test is the political number of 8. Actually, RJD has 79, Congress has 19 and Left has 19 MLAs. In this way, the grand alliance’s number reaches 114. They are only 8 MLAs short of majority. On the other hand, in the NDA camp, BJP has 78, JD(U) has 45, HAM i.e.

Jitanram Manjhi has four and one independent MLA’s support. This number is 128, i.e. 6 MLAs more than the majority. If 7-8 MLAs break away or ‘vanish’, then it can be trouble for Nitish. Nitish will have to get the number of 122 to save power in the 243 seats of the Bihar assembly.

When Nitish Kumar had made the government with the BJP by turning his back, Tejashwi Yadav had said that the game would start now. For a week, the RJD camp has been shouting – this is the demand of every person, we want only Tejashwi government. One reason for Nitish’s heartbeat to rise is also that why is RJD claiming to form Tejashwi government without the numbers?

A few hours ago, there was also news that Manjhi’s number is not working. A senior leader of the Left also met Manjhi. There, 2-3 MLAs did not reach the JD(U) meeting. Sources have revealed that Sudarshan Kumar Singh, Bima Bharti and Dilip Roy did not appear in the JDU meeting. One more game before the floor test today!

State Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary did not pay much attention to the absence of two-three MLAs in the JD(U) MLAs’ meeting. He said that there are 128 MLAs in the NDA. We are in a majority situation. All our MLAs will be present in the House today. Before the confidence vote, a no-confidence motion will come against the Speaker. He told that if necessary under the rules, 38 MLAs will stand on their seats to support the proposal, after which the Speaker will have to hand over the conduct of the proceedings to the Deputy Speaker till a new Speaker is elected.

Actually, the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly is Maheshwar Hazari from JD(U) and the Speaker is Awadh Bihari Chaudhary from RJD. In the past few days, there was a lot of discussion that some game could happen in Bihar through the Speaker. After all, the Speaker is supreme in the House.

RJD spokesperson Shakti Singh Yadav said angrily that the arrival of the government officials in the party’s marathon meeting for two days proves that the government has not only lost the public mandate, but also the trust. This is RJD’s meeting. BJP is holding a workshop, so that is a Rasleela and RJD is holding a meeting with the MLAs, so the character is loose. The people of the government send the magistrate to find out which MLAs are on their own or not? This does not work in democracy.

    RJD’s Attack

It was said on Lalu’s party’s ex-handle, ‘Nitish Kumar has sent police in thousands to surround Tejashwi ji’s residence due to the fear of losing the government. They want to enter the house by any means and do something unpleasant with the MLAs. The people of Bihar are watching the misdeeds of Nitish Kumar and the police.’ Many experts who keep an eye on Bihar’s politics believe that by changing sides repeatedly, Nitish Kumar’s popularity has decreased on one hand

  • Bihar: Bihar Floor Test: Nitish Kumar, has sent thousands of police and surrounded Tejashwi’s Patna residence: RJD

Hours before a crucial floor test in Bihar’s assembly, senior police officers made a late-night visit to the residence of former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav. This visit came in response to allegations of ‘kidnapping’ made by RJD MLA Chetan Anand’s family. The unfolding events shed light on the intense political maneuvering ahead of the trust vote.

    Police Visit Amid Allegations

On Sunday night, police visited Tejashwi Yadav’s plush residence following a complaint lodged with Patna Police. The complaint, filed by family members of RJD MLA Chetan Anand, alleged that he was ‘missing’ and possibly being held against his will at Yadav’s residence. However, upon police arrival, Chetan Anand clarified that he was present at Yadav’s residence voluntarily.Tension Escalates

The arrival of police at Tejashwi Yadav’s bungalow led to heightened tension in the area, with a significant deployment of security personnel to maintain order. RJD supporters gathered outside the residence, expressing anger and chanting slogans.

In response to the incident, the RJD accused Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of orchestrating the police visit to disrupt their preparations for the floor test. The BJP, on the other hand, dismissed these allegations, emphasizing their confidence in proving the NDA government’s majority.Reacting to the incident, the RJD took to X and alleged that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar sent police to Tejashwi Yadav’s residence, fearing his defeat in the floor test.”They want to enter inside the residence and do untoward incidents with the MLAs. The people of Bihar are watching the misdeeds of Nitish Kumar and the police. Remember, we are not among those who fear and bow down,” the party wrote in Hindi.Political Dynamics Ahead of Floor Test

As the trust vote looms, both alliances are rallying their members. The Mahagathbandhan, comprising RJD, Congress, and Left parties, is asserting its unity with 114 MLAs. Meanwhile, the NDA government, led by Nitish Kumar, claims a majority with 128 members.

Reports of ‘missing’ MLAs from both camps add to the intrigue surrounding the floor test. The NDA asserts its readiness, buoyed by JD(U) issuing a whip for all MLAs to be present. Additionally, BJP MLAs, previously housed in a Bodh Gaya resort, have returned to Patna.

Leaders from both sides exude confidence in their respective camps’ strength. JD(U) MLA Shalini Mishra reaffirmed the NDA’s solidarity, while BJP leader Haribhushan Thakur projected a comfortable victory in the floor test.

Janata Dal-United (JD-U) MLA Shalini Mishra, who did not attend the party meeting, said that she went to Delhi for some personal work.

The JD-U MLA also asserted that the NDA alliance led by CM Nitish Kumar will win the floor test with full force, which is set to take place tomorrow.

“There was nothing to doubt about this. I had gone to Delhi after informing the party leadership of some personal work and today I have returned. I want to say that NDA will pass the floor test with full force and we will work for the development of Bihar. No MLA has been put under house arrest. Everyone has freedom and this shows how secure and safe we are under the leadership of CM Nitish Kumar,” she said.

JD-U leader KC Tyagi said, the “kind of fear and insecurity present in the RJD-Congress camp shows how unstable both parties are. This time, the opposition will have nothing to cheer about”.

JD-U MLA Zama Khan said, “All MLAs have come.”

Another party MLA Vinay Kumar Choudhary told ANI, “We are safe under the leadership of CM Nitish Kumar…It is confirmed (passing the floor test).”

BJP leader Haribhushan Thakur said, “We will win the floor test with a comfortable margin. Nitish Kumar will remain our CM with two Deputy CMs and this govt will complete its term… Jitan Ram Manjhi is with us…”

Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) leader Jitan Ram Manjhi said that all MLAs (BJP, JD-U, HAM) will be present tomorrow and PM Modi has done a good job by bringing CM Nitish Kumar into his team.

“Everybody is intact in NDA. We have 128 members and this figure may increase because today everybody holds PM Modi’s leadership in high regard. He has done a very good job by bringing Nitish Kumar with him. Our experiment will be successful on 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar. All MLAs (BJP, JD-U, HAM) will be present tomorrow,” he said.

    The Upcoming Trust Vote

The Bihar assembly braces for a crucial trust vote on Monday, determining the fate of the NDA government. With political tensions running high, all eyes are on the assembly as the drama unfolds in the quest for majority support.
