In a fiery rebuttal, Maharashtra’s Deputy CM Eknath Shinde has come down heavily on Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge over his disparaging remarks targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The statement, delivered during a media interaction in Mumbai on April 22, has sparked a fresh political row.

‘Disgraceful and inexcusable,’ Shinde called Kharge’s words, insisting they cross all lines of decency. He highlighted Modi’s tireless dedication: no leaves since assuming office, always putting India first in every decision.

Under Modi’s stewardship, Shinde noted, the nation has risen to superpower status on the world stage. Kharge’s jibe, therefore, amounts to a direct insult to the country’s progress and its people’s pride.

Shinde didn’t stop there. He lambasted Congress for their stance during Operation Sindoor, alleging they parroted Pakistani propaganda and undermined the Indian Army’s bravery. ‘PM Modi ordered the operation to punish those who dared to tarnish the honor of our mothers and sisters,’ he explained.

Congress, he charged, ridiculed the mission and sided with terrorists in their criticism. Such behavior, Shinde opined, reveals the party’s true colors and will ultimately backfire. ‘Modi enjoys unwavering public support that won’t diminish,’ he predicted confidently.

Pointing to Congress’s history of overseas slander against India and its leader, Shinde renewed his denunciation. He also rallied behind women’s reservation, vowing that women voters would decisively reject opposing parties. Kharge’s latest outburst fits Congress’s long-standing playbook of indecency.
