Mumbai police have nabbed Ashraf Siddiqui, a senior employee, after a 19-year-old Hindu telecaller accused him of relentless online harassment. The ordeal began in Mahalaxmi’s bustling corporate scene, where the victim works at a well-known firm.

It started innocently enough—a missed WhatsApp call from a company group contact on April 21. Ashraf introduced himself, only to unleash a flood of pornographic images, videos, and lewd comments the next day. Undeterred, he messaged again on April 22, pushing for intimacy and revealing he had done the same to other Hindu women at work.

Smartly documenting every message, the young woman turned to Agripada police with screenshots and media files. Her proactive steps led to Ashraf’s rapid arrest and phone confiscation. The FIR paints a grim picture of coercion, with the accused even floating marriage proposals amid his vulgar advances.

The victim’s father expressed outrage: “Three days of torment with explicit content and lodge invitations. He openly said he’s targeted other Hindu girls before.” She echoed, “Filthy videos and chats, plus bizarre family anecdotes to manipulate me.”

Community voices like Ravindra Dabholkar call it a calculated ploy, highlighting the perils of unchecked digital interactions in professional settings. Authorities are investigating further to uncover if others fell victim, signaling a crackdown on such predatory behavior.
