Madhya Pradesh’s wheat procurement season is off to a flying start, with Minister Govind Singh Rajput highlighting record-breaking participation. As many as 461,271 farmers have secured slots for 1.97 crore quintals of wheat sales under the MSP guarantee.
Already, 1.36 lakh farmers have offloaded 59.49 lakh quintals, receiving Rs 575.86 crore in prompt bank transfers. This financial lifeline comes at a crucial time, empowering farmers to reinvest in their next sowing cycle.
The state has rolled out 3,171 dedicated procurement centers operating on working days. To maximize reach, slot capacities have been upgraded to 1,500 quintals per center daily. Farmers can book until April 30, except for mismatched satellite email khasras, where alternative plots are permitted.
Every center is equipped for efficiency: from gunny bags and electronic scales to internet-enabled computers, quality labs, and hygiene facilities. Shaded rest areas and water stations ensure comfort during long waits.
Priced at Rs 2,625 per quintal (MSP Rs 2,585 + Rs 40 bonus), the procurement aligns with Rabi 2026-27 norms. Over 45 lakh quintals are already in transit to secure godowns.
Registration hit a peak with 19.04 lakh farmers signing up – up 3.6 lakh from last year. Targeting 78 lakh MT against 77 lakh MT achieved previously, MP is setting new benchmarks even in tough times, prioritizing farmer prosperity and grain reserves.
