Punjab Oppn Slams Mann Govt After Shambhu Rail Track Explosion

Punjab’s political landscape erupted in controversy following a major blast on the Delhi-Rajpura railway line near Shambhu on the Patiala-Haryana border. Opposition figures from SAD and Congress have unleashed a barrage of accusations against Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s administration, labeling it a blatant failure in intelligence and security protocols.

In a strongly worded X post, Sukhbir Singh Badal decried the explosion as a preventable act of sabotage. He revealed that intelligence inputs about threats had been available for days, yet authorities failed to act. This comes on the heels of multiple bombings at police facilities and a shocking RPG assault on intelligence offices, painting a picture of systemic vulnerability.

Badal didn’t mince words: ‘CM Mann, as home minister, needs to prioritize infrastructure protection over complacency. His negligence risks dragging Punjab into an era of terror we thought was history.’ The SAD leader called for urgent measures to safeguard the state’s railways and public spaces.

Joining the fray, Bikram Majithia detailed the blast’s impact—severely damaged tracks halting trains—and linked it to a pattern of incidents signaling deeper security woes. ‘No high-level review, no strategy. Law enforcement serves political ends, not citizens. While vandals target MPs and truck leaders get protection, ordinary people suffer,’ he charged.

Congress’s Raja Warring painted a grim morning picture: murders in Batala alongside the rail sabotage. ‘Hard-earned peace is slipping away as AAP fights for survival. Criminals thrive in this vacuum, and warnings go unheeded. Government eyes its legislators, not threats,’ he posted.

With trains delayed and tensions rising, the opposition’s unified voice demands accountability. Punjab’s residents, weary of recurring threats, await the AAP government’s concrete steps to reclaim control and prevent a slide into disorder.
