The release of Pappu Yadav from jail has ignited a fresh wave of political rhetoric in Bihar. The Purnea MP, known for his fiery persona, immediately claimed that influential figures across Patna, Delhi, and his home turf are plotting his assassination. JD(U)’s Neeraj Kumar hit back hard on Saturday, dismissing the allegations as the rantings of a ‘political coward.’
‘Disclose the names if you’re so sure of the conspiracy,’ Kumar demanded, pointing to Yadav’s reluctance despite his bravado against gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. This double standard, he argued, reveals Yadav’s penchant for theatrics over substance.
Kumar painted a vivid picture of Yadav’s jailhouse drama: collapsing in agony en route to custody, only to miraculously recover post-bail and dash off energetically. ‘The Lawrence Bishnoi saga laid bare his duplicity for all to see,’ he noted.
Turning to Yadav’s past, the JD(U) spokesperson questioned the MP’s moral authority amid charges of heinous crimes like dacoity, homicide, abduction, and communal violence. ‘Silent on Rupesh’s killing until now—what game is he playing?’ Kumar probed.
He also took aim at ex-IPS Amitabh Das, whom he called a ‘mental wreck in politics,’ urging him to produce proof on the student’s death if it exists.
This ongoing feud highlights the cutthroat nature of Bihar politics, where personal attacks often overshadow policy debates. With Yadav’s bail setting the stage, expect more fireworks as alliances shift ahead of crucial polls.
