AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has strongly condemned a viral video featuring Dr. Umar Nabi, an accused in the recent Delhi blast, where he appears to justify suicide bombings. Owaisi unequivocally stated that such acts constitute terrorism and have no religious basis.
In the circulated video, Dr. Nabi discusses suicide attacks, referring to them as ‘martyrdom operations’ and suggesting the concept is ‘misunderstood’ within Islam. Owaisi vehemently rejected these claims, emphasizing that Islam strictly prohibits suicide and the killing of innocent people. He asserted that these actions are unequivocally acts of terrorism, leaving no room for misinterpretation or justification.
The AIMIM president also raised critical questions regarding security lapses, particularly in light of recent statements by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who had informed Parliament that no Kashmiri youth had joined terror groups in the preceding six months. Owaisi questioned the origin of this terror module and demanded accountability for the failure to detect it earlier.
The investigation into the Delhi car blast, which occurred on November 10 near the Red Fort Metro station, revealed that Dr. Umar Nabi was linked to a significant explosive recovery. Security agencies have identified this module as comprising highly educated individuals, including doctors, highlighting a disturbing new trend in extremist networks.
