In a display of pomp and protocol, South Korea’s President Lee Jae-myung and his wife Kim Hye-kyung were formally received at India’s Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday. The event, attended by President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, set the tone for a landmark three-day official visit to bolster longstanding bilateral ties.

Touching down in New Delhi the previous day, President Lee was received at the airport by Minister of State Harsh Malhotra. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar took to X to convey his delight, praising Lee’s dedication to expanding India-Korea collaboration in diverse fields and expressing confidence in fruitful PM-level dialogues.

He envisioned symbiotic growth opportunities, free from pressure, and advocated joint efforts toward a peaceful, democratic future. ‘I hope everything goes smoothly,’ he added with optimism.
Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal hailed the tour as a key milestone, noting it as Lee’s inaugural state visit to India.
