Uttar Pradesh’s Mahila Samarthya Yojana is scripting a success story in Awadh, where more than 1,500 villages in Ayodhya, Sultanpur, Raebareli, Amethi, Pratapgarh, Fatehpur, and Kanpur are undergoing a profound transformation. Over 100,000 women have joined dairy networks, receiving direct payments totaling 1,380 crore rupees. The initiative is now extending to Lucknow, Unnao, and Barabanki, amplifying its reach.

What sets this apart is the seamless integration from production to market and payment. Daily milk procurement hits 4 lakh liters, turning age-old practices into organized business ventures that create jobs and income at the grassroots level. CM Yogi Adityanath emphasizes that empowered women build resilient families and vibrant societies—a principle this scheme embodies perfectly.

From humble beginnings in March 2023—covering 340 villages and 8,000 women—the program has ballooned to 1,550 villages and a lakh-plus beneficiaries. The DBT mechanism has eradicated corruption and delays, boosting women’s confidence and financial security.

In Sultanpur’s Mukundpur, Anita Verma’s journey stands out. Her modest start with two cows yielded 6.5 lakh rupees annually, proving the scheme’s potential to unlock hidden talents. This wave of empowerment is not just economic; it’s redefining rural India’s social fabric, one village at a time.
