Madhya Pradesh’s Narmadapuram region witnessed a heartbreaking road accident on April 27, where a speeding SUV crashed into a tractor-trolley, resulting in five immediate fatalities and multiple injuries. The collision took place in the wee hours near Achalkheda village, within Makhannagar police jurisdiction.
Reports indicate the group was coming back from a lively wedding in Budhni. Their Tavera vehicle, hurtling at breakneck speed, struck the loaded tractor-trolley from behind. The devastating wreckage left no chance for the five passengers—all residents of Mahendrawadi—who perished on the spot.
The site quickly became a scene of pandemonium with cries echoing through the night. Bystanders notified authorities, prompting a swift response from police and medical teams. Post-mortems were conducted on the remains, and the wounded were admitted to hospitals amid critical conditions.
A senior doctor at the district hospital shared grim details: four arrived lifeless, part of a group of 7-8 injured admitted around 2 AM. Several victims suffer life-threatening wounds, with transfers made to other medical centers. Ambulance personnel described racing to the wheat-transporting trolley crash site, where one more death occurred en route, tallying five losses.
A motorcyclist returning from the same event provided a firsthand account: ‘There were 9-10 in the SUV, including the driver. The accident was instantaneous.’
Compounding the sorrow, Dewas saw another horror at Jwai Khedi Mode, where a mystery vehicle hit three motorcycle riders, claiming two lives and leaving a teen hurt. They had visited kin in Dewas post an earlier injury inquiry. The boy was stabilized locally before Indore transfer.
As families mourn, experts call for better road infrastructure, night patrols, and driver education to prevent such senseless losses on India’s highways.
