According to initial reports, the incident occurred in the market area of Padeda village, under the jurisdiction of the Bijapur police station. Constable Santu Potam was at the market when he was suddenly attacked by unknown individuals. The constable sustained serious injuries in the assault. The injured constable was rushed to the Bijapur district hospital for immediate medical attention and primary treatment. His condition is currently reported as stable.
