Political activity is intensifying in Bihar ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. Reports indicate that the Janata Dal United (JDU) may face a significant setback. Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, a prominent JDU MLA, is reportedly considering joining the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). According to sources, Dr. Kumar has already met with Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition. A photograph of this meeting is circulating widely. It’s understood that Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, the MLA from Parbatta in Khagaria, has been disgruntled with the JDU for some time and may deal a blow to the party before the elections. He is expected to join the RJD soon.
It is speculated that Dr. Sanjeev will become a member of the RJD on October 3rd, in the presence of Tejashwi Yadav. Party sources suggest that a large rally is scheduled in Gogri, Khagaria, on October 3rd, where Dr. Sanjeev is likely to officially join the RJD. Dr. Sanjeev has been expressing discontent with the party leadership for a while. His statements have sometimes criticized the top JDU leadership. He also became a topic of discussion when CM Nitish Kumar decided to leave the Mahagathbandhan and join hands with the NDA in January last year.
Dr. Sanjeev was also questioned by the EOU in connection with a conspiracy to purchase MLAs. Dr. Sanjeev is believed to have a strong influence in the Parbatta region. If Dr. Sanjeev leaves the JDU and joins the RJD in this area, the RJD could gain significant support from the Bhumihar community.
