Patna buzzed with unexpected political harmony as Congress MLA Surendra Prasad Kushwaha from Valmiki Nagar openly applauded Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary’s leadership. In a candid interview, he stated, ‘Samrat Choudhary is performing exceptionally well – no doubt about it.’

Breaking party lines, Kushwaha strongly supported Bihar’s encounter policy against criminals. He remarked, ‘Crime knows no caste. Police must crack down hard wherever it happens, and encounters in Bihar are praiseworthy. Strict action is vital to curb lawlessness.’

His endorsement underscores a growing consensus on the need for robust policing, even as political rivalries simmer. Kushwaha reiterated that administrative firmness against offenders is non-negotiable.

Shifting to cabinet expansion talks, he deferred to the ruling dispensation. ‘It’s their government under Samrat Choudhary; they’ll handle decisions on inclusions and strategies.’

On JD(U)’s Nishant Kumar embarking on a tour from Valmiki Nagar, Kushwaha drew parallels. ‘Nitish Kumar launched many yatras from there before. Nishant continuing the tradition makes sense.’

Commenting on West Bengal exit polls, he said, ‘No involvement from our side in those elections, so limited info. Results on May 4 will tell the tale.’

Kushwaha’s forthright praise signals intriguing cross-party dialogues in Bihar, potentially influencing future alliances and policy debates on security and governance.
