The drive targets the growing problem of unnecessary chain pulling, which grinds trains to a halt and endangers lives. Official data highlights how these acts lead to delays affecting thousands, while also straining railway resources.
Section 141 strictly prohibits pulling the alarm without valid cause, prescribing imprisonment up to 12 months or a Rs 1,000 penalty. The RPF’s proactive patrols and awareness campaigns have yielded results, as evidenced by the swift legal actions.
Senior DCM Saurabh Kataria stated that the force remains steadfast in delivering safe, punctual services. Joint operations with the commercial wing involve round-the-clock monitoring at key stations and onboard trains.
Passengers causing such disruptions not only face personal fines but contribute to systemic issues like timetable slippages and economic setbacks for the national transporter. The division prioritizes better facilities, but compliance is non-negotiable.
