The partial collapse of the Vikramshila Setu has caused a logistical nightmare for the people of Bihar. The distance between Bhagalpur and Naugachia, usually a 18-kilometer journey, has now expanded to 160 kilometers via road detours. With the 36-meter span submerged in the Ganga, thousands are forced to rely on risky boat crossings that take up to two hours. Local authorities and BSNL workers are currently on-site to restore communication lines and evaluate the safety of the remaining pillars while the public expresses outrage over the delayed 36-crore maintenance project.
