The International Cricket Council (ICC) unveiled its freshest Men’s T20I team rankings, where India continues to reign supreme with 275 points under Suryakumar Yadav’s captaincy. Released mid-week, the list shows India pulling ahead comfortably from England (262, 2nd) and Australia (258, 3rd), even as their lead narrowed marginally.

The methodology is clear: full weight to games post-May 2025 and half to the prior two years. This formula captures India’s remarkable run, including consecutive T20 World Cup triumphs in 2024 and 2026—a feat that cements their legacy.

Stability defines the top tier, with no shifts in the top seven. New Zealand stays fourth on 247, South Africa fifth at 244, Pakistan sixth with 240, and West Indies seventh on 233. It’s a testament to the depth and consistency in T20’s upper echelons.

Mid-table saw movement: Bangladesh edges up to eighth with a single-point gain, pushing Sri Lanka down to ninth after a six-point loss. Afghanistan clings to tenth, neck-and-neck with Sri Lanka.

Lower down, the USA stole the show, climbing two places to 13th with six points, bypassing Netherlands and Scotland now at 14th and 15th. Namibia remains 16th; Nepal and Oman each advance one to 17th and 19th. Italy’s ascent was stunning—11 points and three spots to 23rd—joined by gains from Spain and Cyprus. Mozambique tumbled a drastic 15 positions.

As T20 evolves, India’s stronghold promises more high-stakes drama on the international circuit.
