Sahaith Theegala turned heads with a brilliant bogey-free 64 in the final round of the Cadillac Championship, rocketing up the leaderboard despite earlier setbacks. The Indian-American golfer ended the week tied for 30th, a remarkable recovery that injected fresh momentum into his campaign.

Cameron Young, however, was the story of the tournament. His steady play across all four rounds culminated in a 19-under total, clinching a six-shot triumph over runner-up Scottie Scheffler. Undeterred by a penalty stroke at the start of Sunday, Young fired a 68 to pull away comfortably.

Theegala’s journey was one of resilience. After opening with a 69, mid-tournament scores of 76 and 74 pushed him down. But he erupted on the back nine with birdies at 12 and 16, followed by a front-nine barrage: birdies on 1, 2, 5, and three straight to close. This 8-under effort marked his season-best and lifted him 33 positions.

Fellow Indian contender Sudarshan Yellamaraju posted a spotless 68 with four birdies, joining Theegala in T30. Akshay Bhatia’s round was rollercoaster-like—an eagle and four birdies offset by five bogeys including doubles, leading to 73 and a drop to T23 from top-10 hopes.

Rain-delayed play on the softened Blue Monster favored low scores with preferred lies in effect. Scheffler’s silver medal extends his runner-up streak to three, Griffin grabbed solo third, and Kim, Straka, and Scott tied for fourth.

As Young celebrates his breakthrough win, Theegala’s fiery finish signals he’s back in form, promising more thrills in the PGA Tour grind.
