The Indian women’s cricket fraternity is buzzing with Radha Yadav’s inclusion in the 2026 T20 World Cup team, a testament to her revitalized all-round prowess. Tanuja Kanwar, the promising left-arm spinner, dissected this achievement in an IANS interview, spotlighting Radha’s evolution in batting and bowling.

Radha’s international footprint faded after her impactful 2025 England T20Is (six wickets) and ODI World Cup glory. Benchwarmered in T20 series versus Sri Lanka, Australia, and South Africa due to left-arm spin competition, she channeled frustration into domestic dominance.

RCB’s WPL title defense owed much to Radha’s 114 runs in nine games, featuring a match-defining 66, despite modest bowling returns. Captaining India ‘A’ to Rising Stars Asia Cup victory in Bangkok, she scored 75 and claimed 10 wickets economically.

West Zone’s Inter Zonal Multi-Day runner-up finish featured Radha’s 224 runs (including 108) and 12 wickets across four digs, ranking her second in both disciplines. With Amanjot Kaur and Kashvi Gautam sidelined by injuries, Radha reclaimed her T20 World Cup and England T20 series spots.

‘It’s thrilling to see Radha back for the T20 World Cup. Her skills have sharpened tremendously—a real comeback story. Her Rising Stars leadership was exemplary in adversity,’ Tanuja enthused.

Preparing for India ‘A’s rigorous England itinerary—three T20s (June 20-25) and ODIs (June 28-July 4)—Tanuja values BCCI’s shadow tours. ‘More games mean better exposure against top teams, fostering growth for senior call-ups,’ she noted.

On the Asia Cup win, Tanuja highlighted resilience: ‘Shock loss to UAE tested us, but we bounced back, echoing our prior Emerging Asia Cup success.’ Bangkok’s slow pitches demanded adjustment from WPL flats; her nine wickets stemmed from length control.

Tanuja’s all-round philosophy: Prioritize nets. ‘Full effort in practice simplifies games.’ She dreams of Lord’s Test viewing amid the tour, symbolizing aspirations in a campaign rich with opportunity.
