Delhi’s public transport is set for a massive upgrade. On DMRC’s 32nd foundation day, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta greenlit seven corridors under Metro Phase-5B, totaling 97.158 km and 65 stations at a cost of ₹48,204.56 crore. These lines target remote and booming suburbs, ensuring seamless, secure commutes across the capital.
Starting with Dhansa Bus Stand to Nangloi (11.859 km elevated, 9 stations), it integrates Najafgarh extensions with Green and Grey lines.
Central Secretariat to Kishangarh (15.969 km, predominantly underground) will serve JNU and RK Puram, linking Violet, Yellow, Magenta, Pink, and Golden lines via 10 stations.
Line-2’s extension to Narela (12.89 km elevated, 8 stations) reaches outer north Delhi, interchanging with Yellow and Red lines.
Kirti Nagar-Palam (9.967 km mixed, 6 stations) boosts industrial Mayapuri and connects Pink-Magenta networks.
Jor Bagh-Mithapur’s 16.991 km independent corridor (12 stations) spans key south Delhi spots with extensive interchanges.
Shastri Park to Mayur Vihar Phase-3 (13.197 km, 8 stations) enhances east Delhi access across Red, Blue, and Pink.
Keshav Puram-Rohini Sector-34 (16.285 km elevated, 12 stations) serves tech hubs like DTU with Red-Pink links.
Four priority lines aim for 2029 finish, with DPRs mandated separately. This visionary project promises shorter journeys, greener travel, and equitable development for every corner of Delhi.
