Telangana’s leadership took a decisive step forward on Friday as Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy engaged directly with TSRTC union leaders in Hyderabad. The meeting focused on resolving long-standing issues, with the CM vowing full support to strengthen the vital transport corporation.

Revanth Reddy detailed ambitious plans to make TSRTC financially robust. Responding positively to union requests, he confirmed payment of salaries for the recent three-day strike and withdrawal of legal actions against participants. Instructions were issued to the transport minister and officials for swift implementation.

Reflecting on the shared history, the CM noted how TSRTC employees backed Congress’s rise to power, and the party reciprocated during tough times. Recent efforts include fleet expansion, new hires, and infrastructure upgrades like a sprawling bus terminal in Shamshabad and another in Gajularamaram.

Shifting to green mobility, 1,000 electric buses are on the procurement list to ease diesel-related burdens, complemented by mini-buses for metro connectivity. Addressing debts and delays, he revealed progress on compassionate hires and upcoming decisions on pay commissions.

The Mahalakshmi scheme has already channeled Rs 8,000 crore into TSRTC, underscoring the government’s dedication. Urging unity, Revanth Reddy cautioned against political distractions and stressed collective responsibility. ‘Together, we’re reducing interest burdens and rebuilding,’ he said.

Union representatives applauded the roadmap for organizational dignity, revenue growth, and superior commuter services, marking a new chapter for Telangana’s public transport.
