Tensions boiled over in Aligarh’s Nagla Patwari neighborhood when an Instagram comment ignited a fierce street clash, culminating in gunfire that hospitalized two brothers—one in grave danger. The Kwarsi police jurisdiction witnessed this disturbing sequence of events near a local graveyard on Wednesday.

The flashpoint was an Instagram post by Adnan, which drew a cheeky remark from Ayyan: ‘Bap hoon tera.’ Unable to let it slide, Adnan ambushed Ayyan en route, sparking verbal volleys that escalated with the arrival of reinforcements from both families.

In the ensuing melee, Babu, aligned with Adnan, brandished an unlicensed country-made pistol and shot at the opposing group. The round hit Sameer, the elder brother, squarely in the chest. Faizan, the younger sibling, lunged to subdue Babu but received a brutal blow to the head from the weapon’s butt as the assailant escaped.

Chaos ensued as bystanders ferried the wounded to JN Medical College. Medical teams are battling to stabilize Sameer, whose injuries are life-threatening, while Faizan recovers from his head trauma.

Senior officers, including SP City Aditya Bansal and CO Civil Lines Servam Singh, cordoned off the area for forensic examination. Special units are scouring leads to nab the fugitives, with formal charges filed under relevant sections.

Experts highlight this as a stark reminder of how digital provocations can fuel real harm. Community leaders call for heightened vigilance against cyberbullying, as police vow swift arrests to restore calm.
