In a significant step towards military alignment, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, head of the Indian Air Force, convened with Armenia’s top military strategist, Lt Gen Edward Asryan, in New Delhi on Tuesday. Their dialogue centered on amplifying operational cooperation, refining coordination mechanisms, and elevating partnerships in aviation capabilities.
According to updates from the IAF’s media wing on X, the visiting Armenian general’s agenda featured in-depth exchanges with ACM Singh on defense collaboration, unified operations, and air force relationship enhancement. This comes as Armenia seeks to diversify its defense partnerships.
Lt Gen Asryan’s day included a prior session with CDS Gen Anil Chauhan, delving into prospective joint projects for defense hardware innovation. The Integrated Defence Staff posted about the Guard of Honour presented to Asryan, with conversations spotlighting advancements in bilateral defense bonds and strategies for expanded future engagements.
Echoing this momentum, Gen Chauhan’s February delegation to Armenia involved talks with PM Nikol Pashinyan on fortifying defense and strategic links. They exchanged views on global flux and security threats, agreeing to intensify cooperation.
Further, meetings with Deputy FM Robert Abisoghomonyan covered security postures and mutual concerns, while discussions with Defense Minister Suren Papikyan stressed deepening defense synergy. Gen Chauhan’s lecture at the National Defence Research University covered critical topics like international security paradigms, tech evolutions, and defense sector revolutions.
These developments highlight a maturing India-Armenia strategic dialogue, poised to yield tangible outcomes in joint training, technology sharing, and operational readiness, fostering a stronger Indo-Armenian defense axis in an uncertain world.
