India’s AI ambitions just got a massive boost. Adani Group director Jeet Adani revealed plans to invest $100 billion in infrastructure vital for the nation’s artificial intelligence surge. The announcement came during the foundation stone laying for a Google AI data center in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday.

Adani detailed an all-encompassing platform integrating power generation, transmission lines, digital connectivity, and hyperscale data centers. ‘Our goal is to foster an ecosystem that AI can rely on completely,’ he stated. He stressed that AI’s trajectory will be shaped by advancements in energy and infrastructure.

Making AI affordable is paramount for societal impact, according to Adani. Cheap energy holds the key, enabling broader access. Google’s $15 billion commitment to the Visakhapatnam site represents the biggest FDI in India’s history, underscoring the project’s scale.

Energy efficiency will dictate AI’s speed from labs to everyday use, Adani explained. Lower computing costs mean cheaper AI, fueling innovation and reach. Partnering with AdaniConneX, this cutting-edge campus – the world’s largest AI data center outside America – will support Google’s Search, Workspace, and YouTube.

Jeet Adani envisions India building infrastructure capable of energizing global digital intelligence. This landmark initiative with Google Cloud is a cornerstone, blending Adani’s infrastructure prowess with tech giant’s AI expertise to redefine India’s digital future.
