In a testament to efficient logistics, India distributed more than 5.18 lakh domestic LPG cylinders on Saturday, the Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry confirmed Sunday. Supply to retail outlets remains normal, with zero reports of disruptions anywhere in the country.

Despite international supply pressures from geopolitical unrest, domestic cooking gas allocation is firmly prioritized. This single-day delivery matches the scale of millions of households fueled without a hitch.

Progress in city gas expansion is notable: 5.45 lakh PNG connections activated since March, plus groundwork for 2.62 lakh more. Notably, 42,500+ consumers ditched LPG for PNG through online surrender portals.

Tech interventions are paying off—online bookings for LPG cylinders spiked 98%, while 94% of distributor deliveries now use mobile OTP verification to prevent fraud.

Commercial sector buzzed too, with 9,131 MT of LPG sold Saturday, aggregating to 1,64,655 MT this month (or 86.66 lakh 19-kg cylinders worth).

Crackdown on irregularities is relentless: 2,100+ raids Saturday alone. Oil marketing firms fined 310 distributors and blacklisted 70, backed by heightened vigilance.

With the Hormuz Strait in focus, contingency plans are active to secure fuels. The public is advised against hoarding petrol, diesel, or LPG, to shun rumors, check official channels, and book digitally for safety and convenience.

As India navigates global headwinds, these figures paint a picture of stability and forward momentum in household energy access.
