In a show of unwavering loyalty, JD(U) cadres in Patna welcomed former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar with unprecedented enthusiasm at the JD(U) office on Sunday. Marking Bhamashah Jayanti, the event came 12 days post his dramatic resignation, signaling his undiminished stature in Bihar politics.
The atmosphere was electric as workers burst into applause when Nitish joined in clapping to a specially composed tribute song. His son Nishant was mobbed with affection, while senior leaders like Deputy CM Vijay Chaudhary, Bijendra Yadav, and ex-ministers Shrawan Kumar, Ashok Chaudhary, and Leshi Singh graced the occasion.
Leshi Singh evoked the timeless legacy of Bhamashah, the 16th-century merchant-warrior famed for bankrolling Maharana Pratap’s resistance against Mughal forces. Her words set a reverent tone for the celebrations.
Shrawan Kumar drew sharp political lines, lauding Nitish for ending the lawlessness of Lalu Yadav’s era and propelling Bihar forward. ‘We seek Bhamashah’s blessings today,’ he noted, with Nitish inaugurating the program.
Vijay Chaudhary pointed to Nitish’s habit of attending such events to keep spirits high, hinting at imminent cabinet reshuffles. Nitish himself took to X, detailing his homage at the BJP-hosted event at BIA hall. He portrayed Bhamashah as a paragon of sacrifice, bravery, and patriotism, whose total devotion to the nation exemplified ultimate loyalty.
Addressing workers, Rana-Bhamashah descendants, and dignitaries, Nitish implored everyone to emulate these virtues in nation-building. The NDA government’s path, he affirmed, aligns with such selfless service, placing public welfare above personal gains. This gathering not only commemorated history but also fortified political bonds ahead of future challenges.
