Bihar’s vocal parliamentarian Pappu Yadav unleashed a torrent of criticism against AAP turncoats Raghav Chadha and six others who switched to the BJP, demanding their immediate arrest by the Punjab AAP government. In an IANS interview on April 26 from New Delhi, Yadav accused the group of betraying Punjab’s trust after years of exploiting its resources.

‘Chadha contested on public donations but flaunts luxury—million-rupee outfits and a London property,’ Yadav fumed. ‘They’ve robbed Punjab blind. Our government would have jailed them already.’ This comes hot on the heels of the high-profile defections that have rocked AAP’s Punjab base.

Yadav took aim at the BJP’s alleged modus operandi: manipulating elections via ‘hacking’ and deploying investigative agencies to crush opposition. He cited recent examples like Nitish Kumar’s quick ouster and Eknath Shinde’s marginalization in Maharashtra, predicting Chandrababu Naidu’s turn next.

Calling for a united front, Yadav advised all parties, including NDA partners, to beware of the Centre’s targeting spree. ‘Stop infighting. Topple the BJP government by 2027 or before,’ he implored, framing it as a survival imperative for Indian democracy.

On a side note, Yadav defended Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh against perceived slights from UP CM Yogi Adityanath. Once close to Mulayam Singh Yadav and now to Amit Shah, Singh remains a force in his constituency, Yadav noted, amid whispers of BJP infighting.

These bold statements from Yadav amplify the drama of India’s defection season, raising questions about loyalty, accountability, and the future of coalition politics in the lead-up to crucial state and national polls.
