In a blistering rebuttal that has set Mumbai’s political circles abuzz, BJP stalwart Chitra Wagh targeted Shiv Sena (UBT)’s Sanjay Raut, warning that any party harboring him courts doom. ‘Wherever Sanjay Raut sets foot, that ship sinks,’ she proclaimed amid escalating war of words.
Speaking candidly to IANS, Wagh dismissed Raut’s tirades against BJP as unbecoming. ‘Abusing the party and PM Modi doesn’t befit him. With 1.4 billion Indians backing Modi ji’s vision for a rising India, Raut’s foolish statements are his trademark.’
Addressing Raut’s jail anecdotes involving Raghav Chadha, Wagh retorted sharply: ‘You say Chadha went to jail under pressure, like you. But why were you jailed? For revolution? No— for cheating in the khat patra fraud. You exploited Marathi sentiments to dupe your own people for votes, landing you in prison.’
‘No sane party would touch Raut; his presence dooms them, mirroring Uddhav Thackeray’s downfall,’ Wagh added. She urged Raut to explain his scams publicly, rejecting any revolutionary narrative.
Praising Raghav Chadha selectively, Wagh said, ‘I’ve observed him raise valid concerns for ordinary folks, earning widespread acclaim despite not being BJP. Praise draws people, just as Kumar Vishwas ditched Kejriwal, paving Chadha’s exit.’ Delhi’s shift to CM Rekha Gupta, she said, reflects public rejection of AAP.
On the Marathi language controversy rocking Maharashtra, Wagh, a proud daughter of the state, advocated learning the local tongue without endorsing violence. ‘Residents must know Marathi; government ensures order. Faith in our CM is soaring.’ To sisters facing trouble, her message was clear: ‘Report to police immediately—justice will be swift.’
As Maharashtra braces for polls, Wagh’s offensive signals BJP’s aggressive strategy to dismantle opposition narratives.
