Firozabad’s law enforcers turned the tables on brazen robbers who struck in broad daylight, arresting them after a high-stakes confrontation. The two gunmen, Kuldeep and Nikhil alias Kanha, sustained bullet injuries during the skirmish and are now under medical care.

According to SP City Ravishankar Prasad, the capture happened on the Hamirpur Bambai stretch of the old bypass road under Tundla jurisdiction. Seized from their possession were two unlicensed 315 bore country-made pistols, four empty shells, two live cartridges, Rs 95,880 in cash from the heist, and one motorcycle.

Two days prior, on April 22 at 1:30 PM, Kota Finance staff Armaan and Arvind from Agra were heading to bank their office collections from Tundla’s Vaishalipuram Colony on a bike. Unknown assailants on a Splendor motorcycle swooped in, grabbed the cash bag, and sped away.

Police swung into action, filing an FIR and deploying four teams under SSP Aditya Langhe’s directive. Questioning Arvind, an Agra resident, uncovered the involvement of three partners in crime. Rewards of Rs 25,000 each were announced for Kuldeep and Nikhil.

Acting on intelligence received late April 23 night about the duo meeting to split the spoils on the bypass, joint teams of Tundla police, surveillance, and SOG ambushed them. The suspects fired first, prompting return fire that left them injured and arrested.

This encounter underscores the police’s determination to dismantle robbery rings plaguing Uttar Pradesh’s heartland.
