In a strategic move to supercharge India’s sporting ambitions, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports is organizing a three-day conclave for state and UT sports ministers at Srinagar’s iconic Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre from April 24-26. Leading the charge are Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya and MoS Raksha Nikhil Khadse, promising a transformative dialogue.

This Chintan Shivir isn’t just another meeting—it’s a powerhouse of ideas exchange designed to align Centre-state visions on sports and youth empowerment. Participants include top brass like secretaries Dr. Pallavi Jain Govil, Nitesh Kumar Mishra, and Hari Ranjan Rao, plus reps from Khelo India, Fit India, My Bharat, and NSS.

Sports infrastructure gets a major spotlight: from Khelo India’s medal-winning roadmap and athlete nurturing to the new Khelo Bharat policy for better federal collaboration. Grassroots talent scouting, ethical sports governance, safety protocols, and indigenous manufacturing of sports gear will spark rigorous debates. Past action plans will be audited for accountability and continuity.

Youth empowerment takes equal billing, with talks on boosting engagement, streamlining execution, and institutional strengthening. Highlights: 2026-27 action blueprint, youth club fortification, My Bharat’s digital push, NSS synergies for targeted outreach, leadership training, volunteerism, hands-on education, and drug de-addiction drives.

The agenda unfolds in three phases—’Sanvad se Samadhan’ (Dialogue to Solutions), ‘Samadhan se Sankalp’ (Solutions to Resolve), and ‘Atmavlokan’ (Introspection)—blending speeches, presentations, practice-sharing, panels, and workshops. Policy labs and review sessions will birth concrete roadmaps, captured live for immediate action.
